Lee Roy Selmon's life includes football scholarships, family involvement and community involvement. The first family is his youngest of nine children of Lucious the Jessie and Lucious Selmon raised on a farm at Eufala, Oklahoma. Two football. He was one of the three brothers that participated in the football team of Oklahoma. Three of them were All-Americans. In 1973, Lucious Jr. Dewey and Lee Roy were starters. Lee Roy is the winner of both Outland Awards as well as Lombardi Awards. He was the top lineman for across the country. In his time as the starting quarterback for Oklahoma The Sooners recorded a 32-1-1 record and captured two national titles. In 1975, Selmon was awarded his third scholarship, and was recognized as a National Football Foundation scholar-athlete. Selmon received his bachelor's degree in education. Lee Roy's fourth time of service included ten hours per week as a volunteer in college. He settled down in Tampa following college. He playing for the Buccaneers for a period of nine years, and played three times in the all-pro league. His business career began. He was hired in 1988 as an Account Relation Officer for Tampa's First Florida Bank. He was also involved with these organizations: Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. No wonder that in 1982, the Junior Chamber of Commerce named him as one of the country's most outstanding young men. Lee Roy stood 6-2 in height and weighed 256 pounds in his college days. He played for the team of 1975. In 1993, he was a part of his current position at University of South Florida as the associate director of athletics. In 1988, he was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame. In addition, he was inducted into the GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame as well as the Pro Football Hall of Fame. In 1989 the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation gave their Distinguished American Award Mr. Lucious Sr. Henry Bellmon, the governor of Oklahoma awarded it.
