Anna Paquin
Anna Paquin has been an actress in Canada and New Zealand for over a decade. Paquin is a Canadian as well as a New Zealand-born actress. Born in Winnipeg however, she was raised in Wellington the city where she was born, she had her first appearance as an actor in The Piano. In this romantic drama film at eleven years of age, Paquin won her second Oscar for Best Actress. Anna Paquin is full Anna Helene Paquin born on the 24th of July, 1982 in Winnipeg Manitoba Canada. Paquin was born in Winnipeg, Canada, and immigrated into New Zealand as a young child. When she answered an open audition call and was selected for the part, she was cast as Flora McGrath, the daughter of an mute Scottish piano player who moved from Scotland to New Zealand in mid-19th-century to get married. She was only nine, and she had no previous experience as an actor. When she was a teenager her family left Canada and eventually to United States. Paquin started her acting career as a child with a character in the Jane Eyre main character in Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre, and then a major part of Fly Away Home. Paquin appeared as Frankie Addams in a 1997 film adaptation for television of the novel by Carson McCullers The Member of the Wedding as well as a small role as Queen of Spain in Steven Spielberg's Amistad (1997). She played teenagers on Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (2000), A Walk on the Moon (2000). Also, she played the role of a teen girl named Polexia Aphrodisa in Almost Famous (2000).
