Lars Mikkelsen-1Lars Dittmann Mikkelsen, born 6 May 1964 is a Danish actor. He was a character in the drama series The Killing. Copenhagen mayoral candidate Troels Hartmann in the drama series The Killing. Charles Augustus Magnussen in the third series of Sherlock, the Russian president Viktor Petrov in the American House of Cards on Netflix, and Grand Admiral Thrawn in Star Wars Rebels. He was awarded the Reumert Prize of Honour in the year 2011. At 27 years old, he enrolled at National Theatre School of Denmark. He graduated from the school in 1995. Alongside his appearance in the drama series released globally as The Killing after that, he appeared in two more internationally acclaimed Danish dramas, Those Who Kill and Borgen III. He also played a lead part in an episode of the BBC drama Sherlock as the blackmailer, Charles Augustus Magnussen.In the American television show House of Cards, he played the role of President Russia. In 2018, he was awarded an International Emmy Award for his character in the lead character on the Danish TV drama Herrensveje. It was aired in the UK as Ride Upon the Storm in the year 2019.
